To clean up politics! To create a system where anyone can truly run for elected office, politicians spend time listening to voters instead of raising big money, and make policies based on the needs of their community without distortion from wealthy interests. To restore public confidence in our democracy and increase voter turnout and other forms of civic participation. Democracy is not a spectator sport--it needs lots of public participation to succeed.
